There was one swarm of bees to day. It was a second swarm.
I have been knitting on my stocking this evening. I have got one almost done.

Sunday, June 21, 1868

Well, this is a very cold day for this time of the year! We went up to Sabbath school and had to wear our thick dresses, and then we went up to meeting at 5 o’clock. Mr. Smith and his wife came home from Sunday school with us and took dinner and went to church with us. Mr. Green, the minister, came home with us and staid all night.

Saturday, June 20, 1868

This has been a very windy day, and cold. We went down town. Floyd and Add and me went to Tom’s. They are all well. I got me a nice fan and a pair of mitts. The fan was 30¢, and the Mitts was 50¢. Julia Palmer and Nettie Greenam rode up with us to Mr. McLlemas’. Add bought a pair of gaiters for herself. They were 200 dollars[1]. We did not go down till afternoon.

[1] This is what she wrote, but I agree that if this is right, this must be the most expensive pair of gaiters ever bought by a small-town woman in the 1800s, or possibly ever!

This has been warm again to day most of the day. We had a nice shower at noon, and that cooled it off a good deal. I have been sewing on Annah’s dress to day. We finished it.
I walked down to Add’s to night after tea. Mr. Green was at Annah’s to night.

[In] a little while, I expect we shall go to town tomorrow if it does not rain. I mailed my letter this morning.

And still another warm day. I went up to Annah’s this morning to help her do some sewing. We had a little shower this afternoon, and oh what a splendid sunset we had to night! It was perfectly splendid.
Henry commenced to shear his shelf to day.

I have been sewing on Annah’s new dress—it is ___ing!

This has been another very warm day. We got a call this evening [?]. It was Miss Lizzie Watson and Charlie Machlean. Add and I done our iorning to day. There was 4 hives of bees swarmed to day! Henry commenced to plant his fallow to day in the forenoon and in the afternoon he went to help Mr. Hizard raise his new barn.
