Friday, August 14, 1868
This has been a nice day. We have been at work very hard to day. We washed and moped and iorned and baked bread, besides having visitors to tea and after tea. Ruth and the Children all [?] came down from Annah’s.
Henry has been helping George trah [?] to day. They finished to night about 5 o’clock. George had 112 bushels of wheat and 46 [?] of oats.
I feel pretty tierd to night.

We had a nice shower this evening. It rained about an hour between 10 and eleven o’clock, and then it cleared of, and then we went down town to take Ruth home.
We[nt] to Tom’s and staid for a few minutes and then took Ruth over home, and then we went up to Salina, and H. got his buggy. He traded a cow for it. Traded even.
