Wednesday, August 12, 1868

This has been a pleasant day. We have been busy baking for thrashers. We expect them to morrow.
Henry has been up to Mr. MacClean’s to day.
I have been sewing some to day. I am making a shirt for Henry.
I am not feeling well to day. My head pains me a good deal. I am not taking any medicine now.

I begin to want to go to home very bad.

Neice Notes: I've mentioned several times that being a farmer in 1868 meant traveling a lot and living on the road. The host family was responsible for providing food and beds for the workers, which sometimes meant a crowded house!
