Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6, 1868

Monday, October 5, 1868
This has been another very pleasant day. We was busy this forenoon, and this afternoon we pared apples and picked peaches. Johnnie Mendham and his wife bought ½ bushel of peaches this afternoon.
I pickled a 3 gallon crock of peaches and a gallon of green tomatoes.
Rob is up to Mr. Briggs’ to day at work. He will be home to night sometime.
Pa has been plastering the cistern for Mr. Malony to day.
I am taking iorn again. I commenced this afternoon.

Tuesday, October 6, 1868
This has been a very warm day, and not quite so clear and pleasant. It is very small [?]. We iorned and pared peaches and gathered peaches.
Rob came home last night, but he has gone again to day. He is helping David dig potatoes to day.

Clara went down town this afternoon to mail a letter to Annah and get a crock to pitting peach preserves in. I made a gallon this afternoon.
