Wednesday, December 16; Thursday, December 17; and Friday, December 18, 1868

Wednesday, December 16, 1868
This has been another very pleasant day. The snow is going very fast. Will and Pa went to Pontiac to day with their pork. They got 9 dollars and 75¢ per hundred for their pork. They got 1 dollar worth of sugar and 1 pound of tea, and Pa got a pair of shoes for himself and a pair for Mother.
Over shoes—we gave 20 shillings per pair for them.

Another beautiful day. The sleighing is almost used up. We have had company to day. Mrs. A. Arms and Mrs. Houchen came up early this morning and staid all day. We had a real pleasant visit, but I feel very miserable to night. I have got an awful bad cold.
Mr. Leonard Phillip was here to night for one of us. Will went with him to… not go.

Friday, December 18, 1868
This has been a very pleasant day. Will drawed stones this forenoon for Mr. Davis, but the snow has gone so much he could not draw this afternoon.
I have been down town all day. We bought 28 yards of calico at 14¢ per yard. We have been cutting carpet rags to day.
I am just about sick with my cold to night.
