Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16, 1868

Sunday, November 15, 1868
This has been a pleasant day, but rather cold. We did not go anywhere to day. It has been a lonesome day to me. Rob came home last night from Mr. MaCain’s, but he has not got through there yet. He has got 3 or 4 days’ work yet.
Pa intends to go to Holly to morrow for lumber. Billy has been at work at home all this week, for he is not very well again.

            Monday, November 16, 1868
This has been a cold, windy day. We washed this forenoon, and this afternoon we cleaned the dining room.
Pa went to Holly to day and got a load of lumber. He took some because he got 22 shillings a bushel for them.

Clara went down town this afternoon to get some tea and some oil. She heard that Isa Wait was very sick. They did not think she could live till night. I hope she will be better!
