Saturday, July 11, 1868

This has been an intensely hot day. It seems as though we could not stand it.
I have been pretty still to day, for I have not felt very well, but I feel a good deal better to night. I took some salts and senna this morning, and after that _______ed some. I felt better.

Mrs. Hibbard has been picking currants to day. She has picked ½ a bushel now. Clara picked about a peck. To day we are drying them.

Neice Notes: Senna is a plant commonly used in herbal medicine and teas. A bushel is about half a barrel, and a peck is a small bucket's worth.
