Saturday, January 16; Sunday, January 17; and Monday, January 18, 1869

Saturday, January 16, 1869
What a delightful day this has been! The sun has shone clear and bright all day. I baked bread this forenoon, and this afternoon we melted and got ice to wash with next week, and this evening I finished Clara’s Chemise.
Will has been down to see Mrs. Mcain. His face is swollen very bad. They gave him some medicine to take, and they think he will get along.

This has been a very pleasant day. Maria came up this morning. Clara went down to meeting this morning.
Will is almost sick to day; his face is so bad!
Maria and Clara and Melia and I went down to Mr. Chappel’s to a circle this evening. We had a real good time! There was a good many there. They had another speaker besides Mr. Macain. It was Mrs. Wallace.

This has been another pleasant day for time of year. It has been trying to snow all day, but it don’t make out much. We washed this forenoon, and this afternoon we drawed some ice from the pond to use for we are entirely out of water, both hard and soft.

I cut up a sock this afternoon and have been knitting on it.
