Monday, March 8, 1869

This has been a very nice day. The snow is going fast. We washed this forenoon, and this afternoon Melia and I went down town and took the dried peaches. We had 6¼ lbs. We got 30¢ per lb. Melia got her a pair of shoes. They were 20 shillings. I got 6 yards of ruffling to put on our night gowns. It was 10¢ per yard.

John Mendham came for Melia this morning, but she could not go until morning, so I suppose he will come for her.
