Tuesday, March 2; Wednesday, March 3; and Thursday, March 4; 1869

Tuesday, March 2, 1869
A cold, windy day but not as cold as yesterday. We have been doing a little of everything to day. Melia finished the iorning this forenoon and I baked bread, and this afternoon Melia and myself went down town to get some sugar and tea. We went down to see Mrs. Andrews. She is no better, they think. We did not get any letter to night. I feel some disappointed, for I had expected one. We took down 2 dozen and ½ of eggs. We got a ride back so we got one sleigh ride.

Wednesday, March 3, 1869
This has been a real pleasant day. The sun has shone clear and bright. I baked pies this forenoon.
Rob came up this morning to help Will draw a log to the mill, but one of the horses was lame, so they could not use it, so he staid all night and is going back in the morning.
We had company this afternoon. Mrs. Houchen and her Mother and Father had a very pleasant visit.

Thursday, March 4, 1869
A cold, blustering day. Rob started home again this morning. Melia and I went down and staid with Maria to day. It is so lonely when Mrs. Andrews is sick. She is a good deal better to day. We sewed carpet rags most of the time.
We got 2 letters to night, one from Clara H. and the other from Floyd.
Mrs. Ribilmand died this morning. She has been sick all winter.

Miss Delia Austin has a little baby. It was born last night, Father unknown.
