Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, 1868

Monday, June 29, 1868
This has been a very warm day. We did not wash to day, for we did not have any hot water.
Add moped the floors and I done the sweeping upstairs. Henry went down town to see Mr. Moore to get some money, but he was gone to big City.
We all went up to Annah’s this evening to a meeting to see about a festival. Concluded to have one Wednesday night at the brick house.

Tuesday, June 30, 1868
A very warm day, and we have been baking cake for the festival. We made 6 loaves: 4 of sponge and 2 gold. We frosted the gold but did not the sponge. We had real good luck!
Henry went to town to day to get some groceries. Cad had another hen hatch out & little ducks, so now she has 20.

We have not washed yet.

Neice Notes: Cad is the nickname for Add and Henry's oldest daughter, who was about ten or eleven at this time.
